When the San Francisco 49ers used a first round pick on Ricky Pearsall in the 2024 NFL Draft, they were surely hoping that he would have a touchdown catch before Week 10.

But, after Pearsall was shot in an attempted robbery in San Francisco shortly before the NFL season started, they were just hoping he’d be able to play football again. Now, things have come full-circle, as Pearsall has scored his first touchdown in the NFL.

The touchdown came on a great catch and run against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Take a look.

That’s the kind of explosive playmaking and ability to be effective after the catch that made him a first-rounder out of Florida. Ricky Pearsall effortlessly turned upfield and put on the afterburners.

With Brandon Aiyuk out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, Ricky Pearsall is going to have a chance to play a huge role in the San Francisco 49ers offense the rest of the season.

Pearsall was shot on August 31 in Union Square on his way to an autograph signing. The bullet entered his chest, but luckily didn’t cause deadly damage. He was released from the hospital one day later and started his rehabilitation to join the NFL.

Ricky Pearsall made his debut in Week 7 against he Chiefs and had 59 yards on 7 catches coming in to Week 10.

No matter how the rest of the season goes for Ricky Pearsall, this is going to be one of the coolest stories in the NFl in a while.
