Many have speculated that Rob Gronkowski might make a return to football all season long. Tom Brady surely could use his former teammate on the field for this playoff push.
However, most rumors tend to die out as quickly as they’re formed. Until now, as new reports suggest a legitimate period, we could see Gronkowski back on the field.
According to Ian Rapoport, “‘the door is open’ for Rob Gronkowski to unretire and play in the 2023 season. That means we likely won’t see Gronk suit up in the playoffs. However, it sounds like a return is genuinely possible next year.

Rob Gronkowski has stated in the past that the only quarterback he’ll play with is Tom Brady. So, if he does return in 2023, we should expect him to reunite with his long-time teammate. It’s also no guarantee that they’ll be playing for the Buccaneers again either. Especially considering Brady is hitting free agency in the upcoming offseason.
So, with that in mind, it sounds like any team that may want to sign Brady could be signing Gronkowski as well. That could be a massive offseason for any team in the league.
For now, this is all speculation and rumors. However, once the offseason is in full swing, buzz about Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady will be at an all-time high. Keep an eye on these two, as it sounds like a reunion could be in line next season.
