The majority of NFL teams will be playing their first game of the season today, 15 years to the day after the single worst day in American history.
Several players have joined Colin Kaepernick’s silent protest to sit during the pre-game National Anthem and its likely that this will be a story that will follow us through the majority, if not the entire season. But please, for the love of God, not today. Today should be about one thing and one thing only: honoring the lives of the 2,996 people who who killed on 9/11.
Rob Lowe took to Twitter to give his opinion on the sitting trend, and I think he speaks for most of us.
Dear @NFL Any player wants to boycott the anthem on 9/11 should be asked to remain in the locker room until kick off. It's not their moment.

Colin Kaepernick’s 49ers take on the Rams tomorrow night, which is good for everyone considering we’d have to hear about any decision he made today until week 9.
