NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is reacting to the NFLPA calling out the NFL over the Jalen Hurts situation.
Earlier this week, Hurts was ruled out for the season after a “superficial blood clot” found by the Eagles medical staff while in London developed into a pulmonary embolism in both of his lungs.
The NFL says it reviewed the Eagles’ medical staff’s handling of the Hurts situation and cleared the team of any wrongdoing.

The NFL has concluded that the process surrounding Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts being cleared to play in Week 5 with a superficial blood clot “was handled appropriately,” a league source tells @TheAthletic.
The NFLPA immediately denied the NFL’s claims and called for a full investigation into Hurts’ medical situation.

Goodell reacted to the Hurts controversy by praising the NFL’s medical team and how they handled the situation.
Goodell also said he would welcome an investigation into Hurts’ medical situation.
We’ll welcome that. That’s part of our processes. That’s fine. We have chief— our chief medical officer has been through the protocols that were followed, so we welcome that. If that’s what they do, they have that right. We’re welcome.
