Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry teamed up in their Zurich Classic debut over the weekend and took first place honors. The duo quickly celebrated in epic fashion.

The teammates were heard belting out karaoke while downing a few frosty beverages, producing an unreal scene in Louisiana. The win was worth celebrating!

The Zurich Classic is team-style tournament, and the lone two-man event on the PGA Tour. McIlroy and Lowry paired alongside one another in what turned out to be an incredible finish.

Fans in attendance got to see some free golf with a playoff deciding the outcome. After the first hole of that playoff wrapped up, the McIlroy-Lowry duo arose victorious.

Not a bad showing for their first time in the field!

It didn’t take long for the celebration to begin. Shortly after securing that win, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry were spotted on stage in front of hundreds of spectators.

They didn’t disappoint!

The always popular, “Don’t Stop Believing,” was performed by the Molly Ringwalds, with McIlroy on lead vocals!

The song choice was fitting for Rory, who’s seen his fair share of struggles this season. Entering the event, he’d posted just one Top 10 across eight tournaments.

Looking for that first win, he continued stay positive and it finally paid off!

An interesting storyline was sparked during his post-win celebration, however. Many believed it to be eerily similar to scenes witnessed on another popular tour.

“This is very LIV-ish,” some said of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry’s karaoke celebration.

For those not familiar, LIV winners celebrate with a champagne shower on stage as the beat of club music plays in the background. It’s a little different, but in some ways, it’s the same!

Music, booze, and a post-tournament party. Just sub out that bubbly for beer and mix in an overplayed Journey song and you’ve got the PGA Tour version. A much different visual than what was seen, say, just a few weeks ago at The Masters.

Maybe they’re on to something! The crowd certainly seemed to enjoy it, as did the golfers.

Rory McIlroy was one of the loudest critics of the upstart golf league, which successfully swiped a number of top golfers from the PGA Tour. He’s backed off that opinion a bit of late with the two rival leagues agreeing to a truce and was even rumored to have been a recent LIV target.

He plans on staying put on the PGA Tour, but some might say he’s embracing some of those LIV practices after seeing this epic afterparty.

Whatever the case, McIlroy seemed loose while playing this team-style tournament with his good friend, Lowry. It paid off in a major way, and hopefully it kickstarts his 2024 season.
