The Denver Broncos are playing like one of the worst teams in the NFL. It’s been a total disappointment through six weeks and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better anytime soon. Russell Wilson has been so bad, Marcus Spears couldn’t help but compare him to Drew Lock.
Marcus Spears Doesn’t Hold Back In Criticizing Russell Wilson And The Broncos
On an appearance on Get Up, Marcus Spears dropped the hammer on the Broncos quarterback. After being asked “what is [Russell Wilson]” the ESPN analyst didn’t hold back. Spears claims that Russell Wilson is “Drew Lock 2.0.”
"Drew Lock 2.0 is what [Russell Wilson] is right now."

This has to be the worst thing for the Broncos to hear. The front office traded Drew Lock away, along with multiple other assets to acquire the veteran quarterback. On top of that, they paid Wilson a massive contract just for him to play horribly. Nobody saw this coming, making it a complete blindside for Denver.
It’s hard to argue with Marcus Spears on this one. Everybody expected the Broncos to be one of the better teams this season. Instead, Russell Wilson looks completely lost on the field. The offense is arguably the worst in the league and most of the blame can be put on Wilson’s shoulders.
The Broncos made a long-term commitment after trading Drew Lock away for Russell Wilson. We’ll see if they can turn it around. However, after six games it’s starting to look like Denver is going to remain at the bottom of the league. If that’s the case, then the future of this franchise becomes incredibly bleak.
