Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is going viral after posting a recent workout video, showcasing his leaner physique and captioning it #RestorationSzn.

After a challenging first season in Denver, Wilson is determined to prove his critics wrong and has been working hard this offseason to get into better shape.

Wilson’s dedication to improving his physical conditioning was evident during Broncos OTAs last month when he confidently declared himself “lean and mean – ready to go.”

In a recent Twitter post, he shared a workout video accompanied by Nipsey Hussle’s “Grinding All My Life,” emphasizing his commitment to the grind.

During his first season with the Broncos, Wilson faced criticism for his perceived lack of discipline and physical conditioning.

Long-time Broncos reporter Woody Paige commented on Wilson’s appearance, noting that he seemed 15 pounds heavier than his listed weight of 215 pounds. Paige humorously added, “Wilson didn’t cook, but he did eat.”

The motivation behind Wilson’s transformation may have been fueled by a comment made by Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen back in February. Woolen referred to Wilson as looking like a “sack of potatoes,” which could have served as a wake-up call for the quarterback.

While it is unclear if that comment directly influenced Wilson’s decision to improve his fitness, he believes he is in better shape than last season and ready to silence the critics.

With the arrival of new head coach Sean Payton and significant reinforcements in the offensive line, backfield, and receiving corps, Wilson has a better supporting cast heading into the 2023 season compared to last year.

Shedding excess weight may also help him regain some of the mobility he showcased during his days with the Seattle Seahawks.

This year presents an opportunity for Wilson to redeem himself under the guidance of Coach Payton. Both Wilson and Payton will need to work together to justify what is now considered one of the most lopsided trades in NFL history.

The trade, which took place a year ago, sent Wilson from the Seahawks to the Broncos, resulting in Seattle acquiring numerous draft picks. Additionally, Wilson secured a substantial five-year, $245 million contract from the Broncos.

While it remains to be seen if Wilson’s weight loss will be the catalyst for a successful rebound, his determination, combined with the guidance of Coach Payton, provides Broncos fans with reasons to remain optimistic as the new NFL season approaches.
