Five-star linebacker prospect Sammy Brown has made his college decision. The defender will suit up for the Clemson Tigers after his high school career wraps up.

Brown is considered the most highly rated linebacker in the history of the recruiting services, and he’ll give the Tigers an immediate boost in the middle of that defense.

The Jefferson, GA native stands 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 230 pounds, a more than suitable frame for a soon-to-be college freshman. At Jefferson High, he’s racked up more than 200 tackles over three seasons at the varsity level.

To show off his athleticism and versatility, he added more than 3,500 rushing yards as a tailback while also being a gold medal winning wrestler.

But his future at the next level is at linebacker, and he has a chance to follow in the footsteps of recent Clemson Tiger greats Ben Boulware, Isaiah Simmons, and James Skalski.

National recruiting service 24/7 Sports lists Brown as the fifth-best player in the country regardless of position. On Monday he made his college pledge, picking the Tigers over Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

“Best culture in college football,” Brown said about his decision. “It’s a good time to be a Tiger!”

Fans in Clemson are certainly excited to see him sport the paw.

One person wrote, “Big signing for Clemson… Looking forward to seeing this young man take the field.”

Someone else said, “The top mullet in the 2024 cycle is headed to Clemson.”

This follower posted, “Huge recruiting win for the Tigers.”

The rich are certainly getting richer as the Tigers have boasted a top 25 scoring defense for 10 straight seasons. Brown will look to continue the legacy.
