San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne earned a $500,000 contact incentive in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. He then immediately turned around and threw his wife, Vanessa, under the bus for burning through all of his money,
Bourne’s incentive came after hitting the 500-receiving-yard mark. It’s the third time that the 30-year-old former undrafted free agent has reached that mark, but the first since he had a career-high 800 yards for the New England Patriots in 2021.
Bourne signed a one-year, incentive-laden contract with San Francisco in the offseason after spending the last four seasons in New England. Prior to that, he’d spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Niners.
Kendrick Bourne’s Wife Has Expensive Taste!
While reporting on the feat during Sunday night’s game between the 49ers and Chicago Bears, sideline reporter Melissa Stark pointed out that Bourne was so excited about hitting the incentive that he forgot the keep the football.
However, he wasn’t excited for himself.

“He said he’s glad it’s over because he never wants to create a distraction. But it was perfect timing, right before Christmas,” Stark said. “because he said, ‘My wife Vanessa is expensive. So she was just as happy as I was.’ Yes, Vannessa, he sold you out. And how about this? He has another incentive on the horizon. If he gets to 600 yards, that’s another $250,000 payday.”
Bourne needs 49 yards in Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks in order to reach the 600-yard mark.
Meanwhile, Boure’s wife’s Instagram page backs up his statement, showing several designer bags, extravagant trips, and a new Rolls-Royce.
So let’s hope, for Kendrick Bourne’s sake, that he reaches that next $500K incentive as well.
