Running back Saquon Barkley is projected to go as high as #2 in the NFL draft and Penn State standout did not fail to impress at today’s opening day of the combine.
Barkley weighed in at 233 pounds, and bench pressed 225 pounds for 29 reps, which pretty impressive for the position.
The Jets, who have the #6 pick in the draft, seem impressed.

Barkley spoke to the media earlier today and said he would more than happy to play for the Cleveland Browns or the NY Giants, both teams which hold the top two picks in the draft.
Barkley on the Browns
You go to a team like that, and obviously they’ve had rough years, but I think they’re a couple pieces away. They have a lot of young talent.
“You want to be part of something like that. It’s something bigger than yourself. That’s something that, you leave a legacy being a part of something special.”

It seems like Barkley is very likely to go #2 to the Giants unless the Browns shock the NFL world and pick him #1. The Browns do have plenty of options considering they also have the #4 pick on the draft but we’ll have to wait and see how they play their stacked hand at the draft.
