New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner took a sly dig at Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen over his fiancee Hailee Steinfeld’s role in the Ryan Coogler film Sinners.
In Sinners, Hailee Steinfeld’s character Mary shares some intimate scene with one of Michael B. Jordan characters, Stack. She also has two explicit lines of dialogue about her, uh, womanhood.
“Then you stuck your tongue in my cooze and f—– me so hard I thought you’d changed your mind,” Steinfeld’s Mary says early in the film.
“So you can rob banks and trains but you scared to steal this p—- for one night,” she tells Stack during the second act.
Steinfeld’s steamy performance in Sinners, which also includes a scene of her spitting in Jordan’s mouth, led to memes about Josh Allen’s imagined reaction to the film, with Gardner eventually declaring he will NOT be seeing the film “out of respect” to Allen.
out of respect for my dawg Josh, i will not be going to see Sinners😅

Allen spoke on his fiancee’s role in the wildly popular film earlier this week, highlighting how proud she is of her (while Steinfeld was Oscar-nominated at 14 years old, Sinners is actually her first live-action movie role since Bumblebee in 2018).
“It was awesome. It was a different world, a very cool experience. I’m so excited for her [Steinfeld] and so proud of her, and it’s gettin’ some great reviews. It’s a fantastic movie. So go watch it,” Allen told reporters earlier this week.
Given that the Bills have thoroughly dominated the Jets since Gardner entered the league, it’s no surprise that the perpetually immature Gardner would take this weird shot at Allen (and yes, it is a shot, because the whole joke is that he’s NOT going to see if because Allen’s significant other gets naughty in it).
