“No Scotland, No Party” is an anthem for Scottish national team fans, otherwise known as the Tartan Army. “No Party Without Cleaning” appears to be another ethos they subscribe to.
After showing up in Boston and drinking the city dry — reports indicated that bars and liquor stores in the area ran out of beer last week — the Scottish fans also made sure to clean up after themselves before departing Beantown, too.

“Drinking the city dry” isn’t a cheeky turn of phrase, but a literal fact, as both bars and liquor stores ran out of beer while the Tartan Army were in town, as we reported earlier this week.
“According to The Boston Globe, Hennessy’s Bar, a watering hole located in the shadow of City Hall, credited the Tartan Army for drinking all of the beer they had on hand for the weekend, with the owner saying their supply was exhausted on Sunday night after tripling the amount of revenue they raked in on St. Patrick’s Day.”
“That came a day after Federal Wine & Spirits, a package store in the Financial District, ran out of all of the Budweiser and Corona it had stocked, and a refrigerator ended up breaking due to the heat that came with the front door constantly opening and closing due to the endless stream of customers.”
Scotland secured their first World Cup victory since 1990 with a win over Haiti on Saturday courtesy of a goal from Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, putting them atop Group C with three points.
Scotland’s next group stage match will come against Morocco on Friday, June 19 followed by a face-off against Brazil on Wednesday, June 24. A single point (a tie) in either of those games will likely be enough to see Scotland through to the knockout rounds.
