The tragic news of the death of First Lady, Rosalynn Carter, wife of the 39th president, Jimmy Carter, broke during the early NFL window on Sunday. And, as NFL Red Zone anchor Scott Hanson went to inform the audience of the unfortunate death of Mrs. Carter, he made a big mistake.

Hanson referred to President Carter, 99-years-old but still kicking, as “the late President Jimmy Carter”, and people immediately caught his mistake.

“scott hanson just said “the late president jimmy carter” and i thought i missed somethin MASSIVE my god,” @annannicc said on Twitter.

“Scott Hanson prematurely announcing Jimmy Carter’s death an all time NFL Redzone highlight,” @ByronChenko said.

Scott Hanson corrected himself very soon after, but it still was not his best moment.

Rosalynn Carter was 96, and the couple had been married for a remarkable 77 years prior to her death on Sunday.
