One NFL gambler is in pain this weekend after watching their hard-earned money be flushed down the drain. The bettor placed a $1 million bet on the Seattle Seahawks only to watch them get blown out in their season opener.

Seattle was held scoreless in the second half as the Rams took total control of the game. The result has many feeling sorry for the bettor on social media.

The Seahawks carried some momentum into the season after making the playoffs in 2022. Pete Carroll’s bunch won their final two regular season games last year to make the postseason, taking down the Rams in Week 18.

This bettor believed they could duplicate that result with an opening day win over their NFC West rival. They were sorely mistaken.

The Seahawks went into the locker room with a 13-7 advantage at the halftime break. That’s where any and all Seattle success ended.

They were held scoreless in the second half as they watched the Rams score the last 23 points of the game. Quarterback Geno Smith threw for just 112 yards on the day as he avoided the pressure of Aaron Donald and the defensive line.

Followers on social media couldn’t help but feel sorry for this sports bettor who had so much faith going into Seattle’s season opener.

“A disgrace they lost but wow I feel terrible for that person,” one person wrote.

“That’s a lousy start to the NFL season,” said someone else.

Of course, there were those that believe the bettor to be foolish for placing such a large wager on a season opening divisional game.

Definitely not the start they wanted to get off to this NFL season. The Seahawks bettor will now have some ground to make up just to get back to even.
