The Los Angeles Rams had a big night last night.

After falling behind by 13 points against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Rams scored a pair of touchdowns in the last 3:19 of the game to turn things around and claim a 17-16 win, their first since Week 6.

Despite the great moment for the Rams, they continue to lose coaches.

This morning, Chris Mortensen reported that Rams offensive coordinator Liam Coen will be heading to Kentucky to take the same job after he held it throughout the 2021 season.

Coen is the 3rd assistant on Sean McVay’s Rams staff to decided to leave for a college job recently.

At the end of November, it was reported that Ra’Shaad Samples would be returning to the college ranks after a year with the Rams to become a wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator for Arizona State.

There was also a report that Jake Peetz would be heading to Nebraska to become their QB coach.

It’s not unusual for teams to lose coaches from year to year, but it is a bit odd to see those coaches leave to move backwards in their careers. Coen is going back to a job that he already had before going to the Rams. Peetz has been the offensive coordinator at LSU.

Maybe these coaches just aren’t sold on the idea that the Rams can turn things around after a disappointing season, but the moves have caused speculation that McVay could be ready to retire after this season.

He has brought up retirement in the past and he has received a massive offer to move to television. Even if the Los Angeles Rams can bounce back next season, they’ll have a tough rebuild on the way whenever their competition window closes.

McVay’s future was a big story after the Super Bowl win last season and it’s looking like it could be again after this season.
