The Denver Broncos have yet to hire a new defensive coordinator. However, it’s not for a lack of trying.
Based on the interviews they’ve had, Sean Payton seems interested in bringing in someone with a ton of experience.
However, the Broncos’ head coach interviewed a surprise candidate for the job. Of course, the fanbase has mixed reviews about this possible hire.
According to Jay Glazer, Sean Payton and the Broncos have interviewed Rex Ryan for the defensive coordinator position.
A little Sunday morning scoopage: new Broncos head coach Sean Payton interviewed a surprise candidate this week to be his defensive coordinator, ESPN’s Rex Ryan @NFLonFOX

Ryan is a former head coach and is most known for his stint with the New York Jets. He’s known for his defensive coaching abilities but has been working as an analyst for the last seven years.
It’s clear as day Sean Payton wants a veteran play caller as his defensive coordinator. However, is Rex Ryan the right man for the job? Broncos fans can’t seem to agree.
Rex has been out of the game for too long now. No thanks.

Has Rex Ryan been out of the game for too long?
The league has passed him by now.

We’ll see how it plays out. Sean Payton is conducting a thorough search for his defensive coordinator position. Hopefully, the Broncos make a hire soon. Will it be Rex Ryan?
