Video of Shane Gillis being handed a Bud Light at the Austin FC match over the weekend is going viral. Gillis, one of Bud Light’s main spokespeople, was seen sitting next to a can of Dos Equis beer, sparking the viral moment.

On Sunday, August 16, comedian Shane Gillis was in attendance at the Austin FC vs. FC Dallas match alongside Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, who is a minority co-owner and the official “Minister of Culture” of the club.

Seated in an exclusive owner’s box, Gillis was seen on camera with a beer in the cup holder next to him — albeit in another seat. That beer, however, was a Dos Equis — a beer company that does not pay Gillis potentially millions of dollars to be the face of its brand.

Within seconds of the pair appearing on-screen, a hand appeared from off-camera and handed Gillis a Bud Light can. Lost in the Bud Light Texas switch is the fact that the clip begins with Gillis attempting to covertly handle his can of nicotine pouches.

Given that Gillis was wearing a Philadelphia Eagles hat, we doubt that he’s too bothered he was in attendance to see Austin FC lose the derby match to FC Dallas by a score of 2-1.

Gillis’ next stand-up show is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 at Madison Square Garden, where he’ll be performing at the NYC Still Rising After 25 Years – A 9/11 Charities Comedy Benefit. Later this year, he’ll also be making his debut in a proper feature film with his role in Madden alongside Nicolas Cage as John Madden and Christian Bale as Al Davis.
