Shaq returned to Orlando on Saturday and had the University of Central Florida going CRAZY! He pulled up to campus as his alter ego, D.J. Diesel, for a pregame concert that had the entire place jumping.
The Knights gathered together outside of the Bounce House for a homecoming mosh pit. The Basketball Hall of Famer got them ready to cheer against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Shaquille O’Neal, drafted No. 1 overall in the 1992 NBA Draft, played the first five years of his career in central Florida with the Magic. He went on to play 19 years in the league before retiring to become a pretty prominent player in the electronic music space.
There have been multiple instances in which Shaq has played a pregame concert at various universities around the country, and Saturday marked an opportunity to get back to where his career began. It also allowed him to catch a college football game, which is something that he is known to enjoy.
UCF became a relevant program in the mid-2010s and prides itself on having a raucous environment. Who better to get the fans ready to go than Shaq?
And once they were all juiced up, it was time to head into the stadium. D.J. Diesel, of course, was on the sideline and was having a blast.
The Knights really turned things up a notch when they scored right in front of the four-time NBA Champion. Shaq absolutely loved what he saw from one of the rowdiest fanbases in the country.
UCF invited DJ Pauly D to play a pregame concert earlier in the year. It was cool, but nothing quite brings the juice like a 7-foot-1, 325-pound Hall of Famer getting involved!
Unfortunately, but also fortunately, Shaq got to witness the wackiest interception of the entire college football season. The result was not what the Knights wanted, but Shaq is an appreciator of chaos.
