The Tennessee Titans are probably going to draft a quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and Shedeur Sanders is one of the top options. However, Deion Sanders may not allow his son to play for the Nashville-based organization if he does not approve of its front office.
General manager Ran Carthon’s ouster may play a role in the future of Colorado’s signal-caller.
Tennessee drafted Will Levis with the first pick of the second round in 2023. The former Penn State and Kentucky quarterback completed less than 60% of his passes as a rookie. He threw 12 interceptions to 13 touchdowns in year two. The Titans went 5-16 during his first 21 starts. Not ideal.
It is already clear that Levis is not the guy. Nor is Mason Rudolph. First-year head coach Brian Callahan revealed Tennessee’s plans to acquire a new signal-caller shortly after a horrible home loss to conclude the season locked up the No. 1 overall pick on Sunday.

Although the Titans are going pick first in April, they may not draft a quarterback. Guys like Sam Darnold, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Jameis Winston, Mac Jones, Trey Lance and Kirk Cousins will be available in free agency. Perhaps it makes more sense to sign a veteran and draft him a weapon or someone to protect him. Or maybe Tennessee is in fact targeting a rookie.
Either way, general manager Ran Carthon will not be involved in the decision because he was fired on Tuesday morning. The guy who drafted a quarterback two years ago will not be asked to do so again.
Deion Sanders used only one word and one emoji to comment on the news.
WOW! 👀

What does it mean?! We don’t know. Perhaps Coach Prime is disappointed to hear that Carthon is out. Maybe the Sanders family is thrilled with the news. Maybe they do not have an opinion either way.
There were some rumors at the end of December that Deion Sanders did not want Shedeur Sanders to play for the Titans but he immediately shut them down. With that being said, Deion already threatened to “pull an Eli” if Shedeur is drafted by a team that he does not approve. His three-letter reaction to the Carthon news could, at its core, change the entire landscape of the NFL!
