Sherrone Moore’s former assistant and mistress, Paige Shiver, ripped the plea deal the ex-Michigan coach received on Tuesday and the light sentence that kept him out of jail.
Moore, 40, who entered a no contest plea to two misdemeanors last month, had faced up to six months in jail. Prosecutors dropped charges for felony home invasion, misdemeanor stalking, and misdemeanor breaking and entering. After his plea, however, the judge only sentenced him to 18 months of probation for each count.
During the incident in question, Moore allegedly broke into his former assistant’s house without authorization. Once inside, Paige Shriver claimed he used knives and a pair of scissors to threaten both her and himself.
“I’m going to kill myself. I’m going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You’ve ruined my life,” prosecutors claimed Sherrone Moore told Shiver.

Paige Shriver issued a statement on Tuesday evening after the court sentenced Sherrone Moore.
“The University of Michigan gave this man limitless power and emboldened him to do whatever he wanted for years with no accountability,” Shiver said.
“December 10th was the most terrifying day of my life. The criminal acts he committed were extremely frightening and violent. He broke into my apartment, crying, yelling, enraged and came at me with knives. I was threatened, and I feared for my life. Today’s sentence does not reflect the hard done to me or the objective evidence in this case.”
Paige Shriver’s attorneys blasted the University of Michigan
Paige Shriver’s attorneys, Andrew M. Stroth and Steven A. Hart, went even further in their assessment of Sherrone Moore’s sentence. They specifically took aim at the University of Michigan and its athletic department in their statement.
“Today’s sentence does not reflect the seriousness of Moore’s unlawful entry and aggressive attack on Ms. Shriver on December 10,” the statement read. “Following his termination from the University, this deranged 6-foot-4, 285-pound man broke into her apartment and physically threatened her with knives.”
They also blamed the University of Michigan for looking “the other way” for “several years,” and allowing Shriver to be “exploited and abused by Moore.”
