San Jose State hoops will look a bit different in 2023. SJSU unveiled a brand-new court design as the team’s season opener nears.

Unfortunately, that look has been met with much criticism on social media. Rival fans don’t seem to be on board.

That could have something to do with the almost entirely blue floor. Making things a bit harder to look at is an absolutely massive midcourt logo that spans from sideline to sideline.

Take a look for yourself.

There’s just a lot going on, here.

It’s certainly hard to take your eyes away from the color rush, as well as that oversized Spartan in the middle of the floor.

Fans were quick to respond online.

“Burn it!”

“Did anyone say this looked horrid or did they just let it happen?”

“Unironically, this should be illegal.”

“They could’ve made the logo a little bigger…”

“New entrant into the ugliest court design.”

Of course, maybe there’s an advantage to the colorful scheme. It could be hard for opponents to spot those SJSU players if they run onto the court in all-blue uniforms.

“Great home court advantage as they will be completely camouflaged when they’re not wearing white.”

Fans will get their first look in person this week when the Spartans host Cal State East Bay in an exhibition game. The regular season will start shortly thereafter with a home matchup against UC Irvine.
