The only thing worse than Skip Bayless is Fox’s coverage of the U.S. Open so far. And the only thing worse than Fox’s coverage of the U.S. Open is a shit that takes 75 wipes to clean up. Although after two more of this U.S. Open telecast, that 75-wiper might sound more pleasant than watching even another minute of golf on Fox.
But back to the issue at hand, Skip Bayless.
This morning, Bayless had the audacity to call Tiger Woods a disgrace for his terrible first round at the U.S. Open on First Take. Meanwhile, his buffoon friend, Stephen A. Smith, called for Tiger Woods to retire. Thinks that he should admit to his shittienss, and call it a career, because everyone thinks he’s a joke. To that I say, then why the fuck are both of you still on TV?
They talked for ten minutes about Tiger. TEN FULL MINUTES. That’s more coverage than golf gets on SportsCenter in an entire fucking week.
We get it, guys. Tiger sucks right now. But it took him only a few months to cure his chipping yips (something that most people never do) and it’s going to take him a few more months to get the rest of his game in order. No one is denying that watching him is bonafide torture right now; I’m less uncomfortable during a Ben Stiller movie than when Tiger addresses a golf ball. I do believe, however, that he will win a few more tournaments before it’s all said and done. It might not be for a while, but he has to be seeing something we’re not to believe his game is turning a corner.
