Have you ever celebrated your team’s win so hard that you snapped the opposing team’s stadium in half? If you answered ‘yes’ to that question, you might be a fan of the Dutch soccer team Vitesse Arnhem who plays in the Eredivisie league).

After securing a 1-0 win over the weekend and on the road against NEC Nijmegen, Vitesse Arnhem slid into 6th place on the Eredivisie table while the fans who traveled to watch their team play celebrated so hard they broke the opposition’s Goffert Stadium.

Miraculously, nobody was injured. As you can see in the clips below, a large metal container was underneath the portion of the stadium that cracked in half and prevented a complete disaster from happening as the supporters only fell a few feet vs. a complete implosion with fans spilling out onto the pitch below.

This all happened during a particularly rowdy celebration after the final whistle. Check it out:

As you can see in this picture, it could have been a lot worse if that metal container wasn’t there:

People on Twitter had all sorts of reactions to the incident. Some using it as a metaphor for life, some making jokes, others just thankful that nobody got seriously injured.

Imagine being an architect in a soccer stadium planning meeting who speaks up and is like ‘guys, is this strong enough? What if they party real hard and break our beautiful building into pieces?’ Because that’s a very real conversation that will need to be had in the future.
