A'Ja Wilson knocked the Indiana Fever out of the playoffs with 36 points and 10 rebounds
Indiana Fever social media personality and basketball player Sophie Cunningham seemingly mocked multi-time WNBA MVP A’Ja Wilson after Game 2 of the series between the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces. Wilson ultimately got the last laugh.
In the Las Vegas Aces’ series-clinching 94-83 win over the Indiana Fever to advance to the semifinals, A’Ja Wilson — a four-time WNBA MVP — had 36 points (leading all scorers) and 10 rebounds. Sophie Cunningham had 5 points and 2 assists.

In between Games 2 and 3 of the first-round series between the two teams, Cunningham took a shot at Wilson on TikTok, where her future career will partially lie when her time in the WNBA comes to an end in the next couple of years.

Given the beatdown that Wilson put on the Fever and Cunningham’s usual lack of statistical contribution, the 30-year-old was widely mocked on social media for her fool’s errand of “poking the beast.”
“Regardless of what you feel about Sophie Cunningham’s views, I think we can all agree that her mocking A’Ja online is tantamount to if Kent Bazemore went after LeBron during the ‘15 ECF. Just an absolutely absurd “Don’t poke the beast” moment from a bench player,” FS1 personalty Nick Wright tweeted.

With their win over the Fever, the Aces will take on either the Dallas Wings or the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA playoff semi-finals. As for Cunningham, with the Fever’s season now coming to an end, so did the one-year contract she signed with the team earlier this year.
