Everywhere that Spencer Rattler goes, the haters follow. As the 21-year-old quarterback gears up for his first year at South Carolina, and likely his last season on the collegiate level, he is blocking out the noise and set out to prove them wrong.
Rattler first gained notoriety for his involvement with the Netflix series ‘QB1.’ The show followed some of the nation’s top high school quarterbacks and Rattler was a big focus point.
In particular, one clip from the show has been used over and over again to question his attitude. That is where the haters began.

After committing to Oklahoma as a five-star recruit, Rattler redshirted in his first year with the Sooners. In year two, although the season was shortened by COVID-19, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound righty burst onto the scene and led OU to a Cotton Bowl.
As a result, Rattler was a Heisman Trophy candidate entering 2021. Those hopes quickly faded after he was benched against Texas. From that point forward, Caleb Williams was the starter in Norman.
While all of this was unfolding last season, the haters were very loud. They questioned his ability, and continued to question his character.
At the end of the regular season, Rattler entered the transfer portal and has since enrolled at South Carolina. He is already impressing the Gamecocks staff with his leadership in his first month on campus.
Now Rattler is set out to change the narrative.
With spring practice on the horizon, Rattler dropped an epic hype video that addressed the haters and established his goals for this season. He is expected to be QB1 for South Carolina this fall and then will presumably enter the NFL Draft. Before he gets to that point, he wants to win the Heisman Trophy.
In the hype video, Rattler included the 917 area code, which is for New York City where the trophy ceremony is held, so he is making himself very clear.
The video is very lit, take a look:

The Gamecocks’ spring game will be held on Saturday, April 16, which will be the first time that Rattler will be taking live reps with his new team on live TV. Maybe it will be the start of a Heisman Trophy-worthy season. Only time will tell.
