It was a bizarre season for the University of Oklahoma football program. On December 7, 2021, Spencer Rattler’s uncle predicted that it was only going to get even more chaotic and he was right.

Since then, Caleb Williams entered the transfer portal and followed his former head coach to Los Angeles.

First, the Sooners began the season with Heisman trophy candidate quarterback Rattler under center and national championship hopes.

Then, head coach Lincoln Riley turned to his backup quarterback, Williams, to lead the largest comeback in series history against Texas.

Two weeks later, Oklahoma almost lost to Kansas. Two weeks after that, it lost to Baylor. And two weeks after that, it lost again to Oklahoma State, which kept the Sooners out of the Big 12 Championship and out of the College Football Playoff.

Meanwhile, Riley was rumored to be leaving Norman for Baton Rouge for the LSU job. After losing to the Cowboys, Riley made it clear that he was not going to be the Tigers’ next head coach.

Less than 24 hours later, Riley accepted the USC job. Shortly thereafter, Rattler entered the transfer portal.

Since then, “That B*tch Out West,” as Sooners fans are calling him, has brought much of his former staff and recruiting class with him to Los Angeles.

Of those who decided to stay through the bowl game, however, was Williams.

Oklahoma announced former Clemson defensive coordinator Brett Venables as its new head coach in early December. Williams was in attendance at the players meeting.

As of December 7, the true freshman, former five-star recruit was staying put. The Sooners played Oregon in the Alamo Bowl and Williams was QB1.

However, Rattler’s uncle, Scott Konkel, did not think he was going to stay in Norman and he was right. Konkel predicted that Williams was going to follow Riley to USC and play his remaining eligibility in Los Angeles.

In response to the photo of the players meeting with Venables, one Twitter user noticed that he didn’t appear to be paying attention. Konkel said that it was because he was dreaming about California.

In addition, as rumors surrounded former LSU passing game coordinator and recently-fired Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady heading to Oregon, one reporter pointed out that Williams once wanted to play for Brady. Brady could have then brought Williams in as a transfer.

Not according to Konkel. He knew he was going to USC.

And Konkel did not stop there.

When one person on Twitter speculated about a Caleb Williams vs. Jaxson Dart quarterback competition at USC next season, another replied that Williams had not transferred at that point. Konkel said to wait, but what he didn’t know was that Dart was going to transfer out.
