Some people were just born to play the game of football and Michigan Tech quarterback Steele Fortress is one of the chosen few.

I had never heard the name ‘Steele Fortress’ until this week but that changed in an instance. A recent tweet featuring Mr. Fortress went viral and then I did a little digging. Steele’s transition from H.S. prospect to college football athlete shows he’s also made a legendary transition into Football Guy™ that very few in life can actually successfully achieve.

Does The Fortress Still Play For Michigan Tech?

On the Michigan Tech Huskies website, Steele Fortress is listed as a sophomore but I think it just hasn’t updated yet and he’s an incoming Junior after doing a redshirt freshmen year. In the 2019/20 season, Steele played in 10 games for the Huskies and threw the ball 95 times for 45 completions for 504 yards.

The Michigan Tech website doesn’t have any QB stats for him in the 2021/22 but he is listed as having played in three games that season including 1 rush for 0 yards.

The Michigan Tech Huskies had a record of 6-4 last season and I can only assume that record was directly impacted by the lack of Steele Fortress on the field.

Everyone loves the name Steele Fortress…

Over on Twitter, pretty much everyone loves his game. Of course they do. I said it above and I’ll say it again, it’s the best name in football right now and in the discussion of the best all-time.

You get the point. Everyone agrees that Steele Fortress has one of the best football names of all-time and his transformation from H.S. football player to an absolute unit has been spectacular.
