After pulling off one of the biggest trades in NBA history, many believe the Phoenix Suns will go the distance to finally win a championship.

Kevin Durant is a difference-maker that drastically improved their odds of winning a title. However, his latest injury news puts a damper on those hopes.

According to NBA Central, the Suns’ are concerned that Durant’s recent injury is “a grade 2 sprain and could miss the remainder of the regular season and potentially the start of the playoffs.”

Luckily for the Suns, they’re currently in fourth place in the Western Conference. However, the conference is in an incredibly tight race.

It’s more likely Phoenix makes a playoff appearance. But not having Kevin Durant, especially in the postseason, is not ideal for this team.

Additionally, it’s starting to feel like Kevin Durant can’t catch a break. He’s suffered numerous injuries in recent years, preventing him from being on the court.

But this is horrible news for the Suns. Especially considering the front office traded away their future to acquire the future Hall of Famer.

Look for Phoenix to closely monitor Durant over the coming days. Considering this injury report doesn’t officially diagnose his injury, there is still a chance that the situation isn’t as serious.

Regardless, Suns fans should bare themselves for bad news, as it’s not looking good right now.
