Surveillance footage from country music star Chris Young’s disorderly conduct arrest in Nashville has been released. The incident occurred in a local bar on Monday night.

Reports from an altercation between Young and authorities say that he assaulted an officer and resisted arrest.

More from The New York Times:

While Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents were looking at IDs in a downtown Nashville bar, Mr. Young, 38, struck one of the agents… Mr. Young began asking the agents questions, which they said they answered, and he began video recording them.

The agents left and continued onto a bar next door… Mr. Young and his friends had followed them and began talking to the people there. When the agents finished their compliance checks, Mr. Young tried to block one of the agents from leaving and hit him on the shoulder.

Young was described as having slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, indicating that he was intoxicated. After touching the agent on the shoulder, the country music singer was pushed where he tumbled to the ground after falling over a table.

Video has since been released from the Nashville bar’s surveillance cameras.

Young was taken into custody and later released on bond totaling $2,500.

What the initial disagreement between Young and officers was isn’t made clear, but it does appear the singer says something to the group as they walked past before reaching out and making contact with the agent.

Chris Young is one of country music’s biggest personalities. After winning singing competition Nashville Star in 2006, he’s gone onto produce a number of Top 5 hits.

In 2017, he became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

He’s expected to appear in court next month.

Update – Charges against Chris Young dismissed

The singer was cleared of all charges following a review of the footage and details of the incident.

“Regarding the Chris Young incident – After a review of all the evidence in this case, the Office of the District Attorney has determined that these charges will be dismissed,” Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk said in a statement.

Young’s attorney responded to the news by saying, “Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA’s decision clearing him of the charges and any wrongdoing.”
