Taylor Swift Fan Sets Impressive World Record That Triggers Swift Haters

How many Taylor Swift songs can you identify inside of one minutes from their lyrics alone?

5? 10? 20?

For diehard Swiftie Bilal Ilyas Jhandir of Pakistan, that number is 34, breaking the previous world record of 27.

“I have been listening to Taylor Swift since my childhood,” Jhandir, 20, told Guinness World Records.

“I have listened to each and every song of hers. I can identify almost any song of hers from the lyrics.”

That may seem easy to some fans. But note that there were some specifications to the challenge.

Jhandir had to identify each songs from a list of Swift’s top 50 best-selling tunes using only the beginning lyrics. Those lyrics were read aloud by a man without any music in the background.

He said that he took 13 weeks preparing for the test with “extensive listening sessions.” Jhandir claims the studying resulted in him even reciting them in his sleep.

“The thing I like the most about her is her way of writing out-of-this-world songs that always hit the bottom of my heart,” he told Guinness.

“The authenticity in her songwriting, the emotional depth in her lyrics, and her ability to connect with listeners on a personal level are all the things that I admire most about Taylor Swift.”

Taylor Swift Fan Brings Out The Haters With Guinness World Record

But as with anything Taylor Swift related, there are plenty of haters.

Is this something we should aspire to? I think not. Call us when it’s Mozart arias and not Taylor Swift,” one Twitter user wrote.

He simultaneously broke the record for having the stupidest world record, surpassing the kid who put 43 snails on his face,” said another.

Coincidentally, neither of these people appear to hold a Guinness World Record of their own.

On the other side of the aisle, Swifties across the world are now studying harder than ever before to try to prove that they, not Jhandir, are her biggest fan.
