Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass had every kicker’s worst nightmare come true on Sunday when he missed the game-tying kick inside the last two minutes of the team’s AFC Divisional Round 27-24 home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s been a tough week for Bass, who had to deactivate his social media due to death threats after he missed the kick. But, Taylor Swift fans have tried to brighten up his week by donating to a charity in his honor.

Here’s People Magazine with more.

A Buffalo-area cat rescue organization has Taylor Swift to thank after thousands of the superstar’s fans showed their support in honor of a feline-loving football player.

Kimberly LaRussa, of Ten Lives Club in Erie County, N.Y., said that Swifties have united — to show their love for Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass, who missed a game-tying field goal against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.

“There are a lot of Swiftie groups out there that are rallying and donating on behalf of Tyler Bass,” LaRussa told the Today show.

As of Thursday afternoon, the shelter has received more than $260,000 in donations, she said, which will make an impact in Western New York.

That’s a solid thing for Taylor Swift fans to do after what had to have been the toughest moment of his sporting life. Bass had a 44-yard field goal to tie the game, but his kick wasn’t even close, quite frankly.

For a Buffalo Bills franchise that has come so close many times to winning a Super Bowl, losing four Super Bowls in a row in the 1990s and coming close a few times in the last few years to getting back to a Super Bowl for the first time since.

In case you’re entirely out of the loop, Swift, the biggest pop star in the world, is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. With lots of her fans watching the game, they certainly had to feel bad for Tyler Bass.

Bass and the Bills’ season is done, but the Chiefs will take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
