On Saturday, Tennessee will host Texas in a college football showdown where fans will have to deal with increased security due to Donald Trump’s decision to attend the game. However, the school has hatched a plan to lure them inside Neyland Stadium hours before kickoff with a hefty discount on the price of booze at nine in the morning.
There isn’t a single game on the college football slate in Week 4 surrounded by more hype than the matchup between Texas and Tennessee, which will feature a top-ranked Longhorns team facing off against a #14 Vols squad in a game where both sides will be looking to improve to 4-0.
It was a pretty obvious choice for College GameDay, but there will be another notable visitor in Knoxville in the form of Donald Trump, who announced he’ll be in attendance at Neyland Stadium earlier this week.
The president’s presence has the chance to impact the game due to restrictions on the radios the teams rely on to communicate when he’s on the move, and the fans who will make up what is expected to be a sold-out crowd will also be facing some headaches due to the beefed-up screenings they’ll be subjected to while entering the venue.
That includes many who will probably wake up with a different kind of headache on Sunday morning, and they’ll be able to take advantage of an early-morning happy hour the school is rolling out to give spectators some extra incentive to arrive early.

Earlier this week, Tennessee issued a warning to fans concerning the enhanced security put in place due to Trump’s visit while advising them to “arrive significantly earlier than they would for a typical game.”
The contest will get underway at noon, and fans will be permitted to arrive in the parking lots as early as 6 A.M., which will give them three hours to pregame before the gates open.
The school is obviously hoping to firm up its home-field advantage by making sure the stands are as full as possible when the game gets underway, and it rolled out a pretty novel strategy by stressing alcohol will be included in the half-priced concessions that will be sold inside Neyland for an hour beginning at 9 A.M.
