The Tennessee Volunteers took a brutal loss to an unranked South Carolina Gamecocks team on Saturday. However, it sounds like things are going from bad to worse, as starting quarterback Hendon Hooker fell to a serious injury. Now, he receives a vital update that has the fanbase in shambles.

According to The Athletic CFB, the Tennessee quarterback suffered an ACL tear during Saturday’s loss. After leading the Volunteers to the number one ranking in the College Football Playoff race, Hendon Hooker will be out for the remainder of the season.

This is terrible news for what has been an exciting Tennessee team. Although they lost to South Carolina, the Volunteers were still very much in the hunt. Now, with Hendon Hooker falling to injury, their hopes to make the College Football Playoffs dramatically drop. As you can imagine, Volunteer fans aren’t taking this well.
