The Tennessee Volunteers took a brutal loss to an unranked South Carolina Gamecocks team on Saturday. However, it sounds like things are going from bad to worse, as starting quarterback Hendon Hooker fell to a serious injury. Now, he receives a vital update that has the fanbase in shambles.
According to The Athletic CFB, the Tennessee quarterback suffered an ACL tear during Saturday’s loss. After leading the Volunteers to the number one ranking in the College Football Playoff race, Hendon Hooker will be out for the remainder of the season.

This is terrible news for what has been an exciting Tennessee team. Although they lost to South Carolina, the Volunteers were still very much in the hunt. Now, with Hendon Hooker falling to injury, their hopes to make the College Football Playoffs dramatically drop. As you can imagine, Volunteer fans aren’t taking this well.
Devastated that Hendon can’t finish his career on the field for us. Heartbreaking. https://t.co/uJQ5SiuZtT

Where does Tennessee’s season go from here?
Knew it the second it happened.
Fight on, HH. Thanks for carrying the Vols.

We’ll see how it plays out for the Volunteers. Joe Milton is expected to fill in as Tennessee’s quarterback with Hendon Hooker falling to injury. Look for this team to do its best to keep fighting, even though they have an uphill climb ahead.
