Texans rookie QB C.J. Stroud, inspired by a lunch meeting with Tom Brady, has been embracing the importance of being a standout teammate.

According to ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime, the young quarterback has taken it upon himself to bring the Texans closer together, setting up numerous team bonding events and going the extra mile.

It’s quite impressive to see Stroud’s leadership qualities shining through at such a young age, not just as a quarterback but as a leader for the entire team.

Stroud explained, “On TV, you look at [star quarterbacks] and think, ‘Man, they’re just so busy. They can’t hang out with their teammates. They’re probably just locked in on what they got going.”

However, he learned from the seven-time Super Bowl champion, Brady, who emphasized, “I just never want to let my teammates down.” Stroud added, “I love kicking it with my boys. Those are my brothers. So it definitely hit home when he was talking about it.”

Stroud, who was the 2nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been making quite a mark in his rookie season.

He currently leads all rookie passers with an impressive 9 touchdowns and just 1 interception, contributing to the Texans’ 3 wins out of 6 games this season.
