It feels as if the long, drawn-out Deshaun Watson saga in Houston could end any minute now with the quarterback finally being traded from the Texans.
On Thursday, it was reported that Watson had eliminated the Carolina Panthers from his list of possible trade destinations. The Cleveland Browns have also been added to the list of no-gos, leaving Watson to seemingly choose between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints.
NFL insiders have been sharing their predictions for what may happen with Watson, and Texans insider John McClain sees the QB landing in Atlanta. In fact, McClain is so confident he said he’d be “surprised” if Watson isn’t a Falcon soon.

As McClain points out, Watson is from the Peach State, specifically Gainesville, GA, and still has plenty of friends and family around the Atlanta area.
A huge piece of the Atlanta Watson puzzle is Matt Ryan, but it appears the Falcons are doing all they can to find a suitor for the veteran QB while also looking after their own bottom line.
According to Adam Schefter, the Falcons pushed back the $7.5 million roster bonus Ryan was due on Friday. It’s worth noting that Ryan would have had to agree to that, which shows he’s cooperating with Atlanta’s front office as it looks to deal him to a new franchise.
