The University of Texas had a very bittersweet 2nd week of their season this year.

The Longhorns gave Alabama their toughest test so far this season, with the Crimson Tide needing a late field goal to win the game by 1 point, but they lost quarterback Quinn Ewers to an injury in the process.

Without Ewers, they won their next game against UTSA and then there was hope that he might play on the road against Texas Tech. Unfortunately, he wasn’t recovered from the injury and Texas lost in his absence.

Last week, there was once again hope he would be ready in time for a home game against West Virginia. His injured shoulder still wasn’t ready to go, but Texas was able to get a convincing win against the Mountaineers.

Luckily for the Longhorns, there will be no more questions about Ewers’ availability and it comes just in time for one of the team’s biggest games of the year. It was revealed today that Ewers will be ready to play in time for this weekend’s matchup against Oklahoma.

Quinn Ewers will be ready to play for Texas this weekend in Red River Rivalry

Ewers is back just in time to head on the road for the Red River Rivalry and there are high hopes for this Texas team with him back under center. They are currently favored by 9.5 points against Oklahoma even with the game taking place in Norman.

The last time we saw Ewers in action, Texas nearly took down the #1 team in the country. It will be interesting to see what they can accomplish the rest of the season with him back at quarterback.
