Texas football is going to look different in 2024. The Longhorns are going to be members of a new conference.

As a result, the Big 12 logo is out and the SEC logo is in!

C.J. Daniels’ mother, Natalie Beavers, provided the first look at the new digs on Instagram. She is in Austin with her son for a recruiting visit and shared a video of him wearing the all-white uniform.

The XII logo patch used to be featured — as recently as seven days ago — on the right side of the jersey.

That is no longer the case. A new era is upon us!

Daniels was rocking a big ole SEC patch during his recruiting visit photoshoot.

It was the first time that we have seen the Southeastern Conference logo on a University of Texas jersey. It looks even weirder than we ever could have imagined and will take some getting used to!

C.J. Daniels, who entered the transfer portal on Jan. 4, played each of the last four years at Liberty— three with Hugh Freeze and one with Jamey Chadwell. He will have two years of eligibility remaining after his breakout season in 2023.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver caught 55 passes for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. While a return to the Flames is possible, it seems unlikely. Daniels visited Auburn on Friday and then flew over to Austin over the weekend. He is expected to visit Gainesville to check out Florida as well.

Freeze is currently head coach of the Tigers. Many of his players followed him from Liberty to Auburn.

Could Daniels be next? Perhaps. He appreciated the “familiar faces” on his visit to the already-established SEC program. He has yet to comment on his trip to the newest SEC program.

Regardless of whether Daniels ends up playing for the Longhorns or not, the page has been turned! Big 12 logos are soooooo last year.
