The San Antonio Spurs Reportedly Want Nothing To Do With Lonzo Ball And ‘The Circus He Brings With Him’

Last week, Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania revealed that Kawhi Leonard wanted out of San Antonio after he felt their relationship was “irreparable” and signaled that he preferred to be traded to the LA Lakers this offseason.

The Lakers have plenty of assets to give up in return for Leonard but it seems like they aren’t interested in one of their players, Lonzo Ball. According to Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports, the Spurs want nothing to do with Ball and the family drama that comes with him.

The San Antonio Spurs have no interest in trading for Lonzo Ball as part of any package with the Los Angeles Lakers for Kawhi Leonard.

The reporting from Chris Mannix suggests it is “the circus that Ball brings with him” has led the Spurs to not have interest in Ball.

But a package built around Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and draft considerations with Luol Deng included as salary ballast is compelling if other teams do not go all-win with their offers for Leonard.

Even without including Ball, the Lakers still have Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma available for trade. It’s still highly unlikely Popovich would trade Kawhi to a Western Conference team.
