Sports fans of a certain age will remember a time when ESPN’s SportsCenter consistently had the best commercials on television.

The network’s “This is SportsCenter” campaign produced dozens of legendary commercials.

Who can forget Albert Pujols turning into an actual machine?

Or the incredible site of Arnold Palmer making the legendary drink named for him?

Others prefer the New Jersey Devil taking an elevator ride to somewhere no one else wants to go.

But it has been a while since we had gotten a great “This is SportsCenter” commercial. Now that wait is over.

ESPN Releases Hilarious “This Is SportsCenter” Commercial With Members Of USWNT

Remember playing soccer as a kid and eating orange slices as the perfect halftime snack? Of course you do! The iconic shared experience is the subject of the latest incredible “This ss SportsCenter” commercial. But at the expense of one absolutely horrified mascot.

The new ad features United States women’s national team players Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn and Sophia Smith digging into some orange slices before Syracuse mascot Otto the Orange walks in on the horrifying sight.

It’s the first “This is SportsCenter” ad since 2019 and a press release from ESPN says it will air for the first time in the leadup to the Orange Bowl on ESPN on Dec. 30.

This is SportsCenter is iconic, and a campaign that everyone knows and loves. It is at the core of who we are at ESPN, and we’re thrilled it’s returning at a key time in the sports calendar,” said Laura Gentile, Executive Vice President, Commercial Marketing, Disney Networks & ESPN. “This is SportsCenter featured timeless creative dating back to the mid-1990s, and it’s our job to uphold this standard and build upon it in new ways.” – via ESPN

The release also states that this is the first of multiple commercials to come. If the rest are anything like this one, we’re in for more gold from ESPN.
