Tiger Woods is at Oakland Hills to watch his son, Charlie, compete in the US Junior Amateur Championship this week. A photo of the golfer is now going viral on social media.

Woods was involved in a 2021 car accident that nearly cost him his right leg. That injury has since stunted his abilities to consistently play at a high level on the PGA Tour.

After months of rehab, he made a return to the course in April of 2022 – fittingly at The Masters in Augusta.

Since, he’s been in and out of competition as he looks to grow stronger while battling other health setbacks along the way.

This season, Tiger set the goal of playing in one tournament a month, which he’s been able to do successfully with the exception of March.

Woods has played in all four majors, making the cut at Augusta National though he’s seen early exits in his other four events.

This latest image of the golfer gives an indication as to why.

Tigers Woods has a gnarly scar on his right leg.

While supporting his son, Charlie, at the US Junior Amateur Championship, he was photographed in shorts with no leg sleeve.

A gruesome scar runs from his ankle up past his knee, showing the extent as to how badly the wreck was.

The leg, which is most certainly still a source of pain for Woods, hasn’t stopped him from walking the course at Oakland Hills. Though he isn’t able to caddy due to USGA rule, he has been following Charlie along as he competes in the tournament.

@blakebunkers Charlie had a tough day but I bet Tiger had some great Dad advice for him. #usjunioram #oaklandhills #tigerwoods ♬ Not Like Us – Instrumental Reprod. by 2legitjay – BrokenHartedMan187

If you didn’t already grasp the severity of that accident, which again, nearly cost him his right leg, you should now. Playing through the pain is only a testament to his perseverance and dedication to the game of golf.
