The Tennessee Titans were blindsided by the news of their offensive coordinator Todd Downing after he was arrested for a DUI. What was a happy moment defeating the Green Bay Packers quickly turned into a dark mark on the season. Finally, after nearly a full week, Downing finally addresses the situation.
According to Jim Wyatt, the Titans offensive coordinator shared a “heartfelt comment on his recent DUI charge.” Give it a listen below.

He basically spends most of the time thanking everyone within the Titans organization for giving him a second chance. The fans don’t like it one bit. Also, it likely doesn’t help he was public enemy number one amongst the fanbase before this incident. Either way, the fanbase lets Downing have it.
Long comment, no apology or taking any responsibility.
Tap dancing.

If the Titans did in fact offer rideshare, then this is an even more stupid move by Downing.
The @Titans provide rideshare and HE CHOSE to drive drunk and speed! He can save his “long heartfelt” apology. He should be suspended. I love my @Titans but this rubs me the wrong way. He should not be on the sideline Sunday. The message it sends is awful.

The Titans are not in the clear either, as they provided no punishment for their offensive coordinator.
For players it would be 3 games for first offense

Maybe Tennessee will make a decision on Todd Downing later. It’s not like he’s been a great play-caller, so it is a bit confusing why the Titans aren’t at least suspending him. Either way, this isn’t a great look for the franchise.
