Tom Brady Will Make $25 Million Per Year With The Bucs

Now that Tom Brady’s move to the Tampa Bay Bucs is official, the details of his contract are now available.

Brady, who famously took less than he was worth during his time with the Patriots so the team could spend money on other areas of the team, will make $25 million per year during his time with the Bucs, according to ESPN.

Tom Brady’s contract details with Tampa, sources tell ESPN: 2 years, $50 million deal, all guaranteed, that also includes another $9 million in incentives – $4.5 million in incentives per year. The contract also prohibits and trades. [via Adam Schefter]

The move clearly indicates that the Bucs are in win-now mode, as Brady will be 43-years-old by the time the next NFL season begins. Furthermore, there’s also no assurance that Brady makes it to that second season. While he remained mildly effective during his final season playing for the greatest coach in the modern history of the league — he threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 2019 — there’s no guarantee he remains as competent in an entirely new offense.

Yes, I understand Brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time — without question — and yes, he still can play. But as someone who watched the guy kicked the absolute shit out of his team (the Jets, I know, it blows) for the majority of my life on this planet, I can promise you the dude taking snaps last year was far removed from the TB12 we spent the last two decades marveling at.

Truth be told, though, even as a Jets fan — I’m rooting for the guy. Because while Brady may be Darth Vader, everyone knows that makes Bill Belichick is Emperor Palpatine. He is the evil we must vanquish from the galaxy.
