Tom Brady is currently undergoing the process of becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s not official just yet, as the NFL must clear the purchase.

However, all signs point towards him getting involved with the ownership group of this franchise. Now, it appears his role with the organization has finally been revealed.

According to Pro Football Talk, Tom Brady claims he will have a “very passive role” as a minority owner of the Raiders.

That makes it sound like Brady is simply going to be collecting checks and won’t have much, or any, say in how the team is operated.

Based on his history of hard work and dedication, it’s hard to imagine Tom Brady being passive at all. Like, this is the first time I’ve seen his name and the word “passive” together in the same sentence.

Regardless, Brady seems incredibly excited about this opportunity to get involved with the Raiders. Here’s what he had to say about it, as he’s in for the long haul.

“This is something that I’m interested in doing for the rest of my life. This is not something that I’m into it for a year or two years. You know, I’ve got a lot of responsibility with my Fox job, which I take very seriously. But if I’m looking over the course of my life, to have the opportunity to be involved in the NFL is a dream come true. And if I could help the NFL and continue to contribute in a positive way, then you know, that’s been a very enjoyable part of my life.”

So, Tom Brady is all-in on becoming an owner in the NFL, but he also claims he’s going to have a passive role with the Raiders.

Also, from the sounds of it, Brady might have a plan up his sleeve. He talks about being in this for the long term and wanting to help the league grow.

If that’s the case, then perhaps he’ll slowly try to work his way into an increased role. Or, maybe he plans to own more of the team later on down the road.

Either way, Brady’s just glad to be apart of the Raiders franchise. He had nothing but nice things to say when talking about the organization, per Pro Football Talk.

“When I look at a lot of the people that have impacted the NFL over a long period of time in the most positive way, Al Davis is one of them. And he’s not with us anymore but I’ve heard incredible stories. And then the opportunity came about to become a minority owner in the Raiders, it was a dream come true for me.”

Tom Brady is surely making plenty of moves in his retirement. Although he’s taking on a lesser role in Las Vegas, he still plans to take on a job at Fox.

At the very least, after a long historic career in football, Brady is going to be a busy man out of it.
