Tom Brady is super serious about retirement this time around.
At least, that’s what the legendary quarterback claims.
Brady, of course, announced his retirement from the NFL following a tumultuous 2022 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But everybody remembers what happened the last time Brady retired. It took the seven-time Super Bowl champ just a matter of weeks to reverse course and decide he wanted to give it another go. Which is why there’s widespread skepticism that he’ll remain retired this time around as well.
NFL insider Rich Eisen, in particular, stoked the fire by saying that he’s heard rumors of Brady coming out of retirement to play for the Miami Dolphins.
The No. 1 rumor @richeisen heard at the NFL Combine:
“Tom Brady may not be done after all…let it play out. The one place that folks are saying keep an eye out for is Miami.”

“Number one rumor I heard at the combine? Not in terms of a lot of chatter, but this one just blew my mine,” Eisen began. “Tom Brady may not be done after all. A couple of people are like ‘just hang on, just you wait.’ And I’m like ‘he’s Instagramming out videos of his cat.’ But it doesn’t look like he’s getting big and fat, does it?”
The cat video reference Eisen makes is to the two Siamese kittens that Brady recently adopted at the behest of his daughter Vivian.
And apparently there’s more to those cat videos than even Eisen knew.
Tom Brady Responds To Comeback Rumors In Tweet
Brady took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to respond to rumors of his return.
Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter. https://t.co/Qzf2H4vr1j

He shot them down quickly. But it’s the way he did so that’s most amusing.
“Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter,” Brady said in a tweet.
He makes a good point. As someone who has a fully grown cat, I can attest to the fact that they are a full-time job. I can only imagine what Brady is dealing with owning two kittens.
Fans and media members seemed supportive of Brady’s choice.
This is how it starts. Before you know it, @TomBrady's gonna have 12 of them, and a t-shirt with the first one on it. https://t.co/XUux5uwI1J

If becoming a cat-dad is not your after-retirement dream you are doing it wrong. https://t.co/7wcK18EpMa

So much for cats being low maintenance pets.
