New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito is the most Italian quarterback in the NFL. He could not be more on-brand for someone with the last name ‘DeVito’ from northeast New Jersey.
DeVito’s time as a starting quarterback in the NFL will not last long so he is embracing the moment while he can. His touchdown celebration on Sunday was perfect. Mamma mia!
Tommy DeVito is so Italian.
First and foremost, DeVito looks every bit the part.
As does his family.
The 25-year-old played at Don Bosco Prep in high school. If you know anything about Don Bosco, you know how much sense that makes. He then played four years at Syracuse.
DeVito currently lives at home with his parents. While there is nothing wrong with living at home, his mom still makes his bed for him every morning which might be a bit much.
When it comes to dinner, Tommy’s favorite food is chicken parm with vodka sauce, because of course. His favorite movie is 2 Fast 2 Furious, because of course. His nickname is TD, because of course.

Although he did not hear his name called during last April’s NFL Draft, DeVito signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent and joined the practice squad in August. The plan was never to elevate him to the active roster, let alone have him start a game.
However, disaster struck for New York when Daniel Jones got injured and later tore his ACL. Tyrod Taylor played well in relief, but he too suffered a potential season-ending injury.
DeVito is the last man standing. The rookie quarterback made his first start for the Giants in Week 9 and lost by 24. His second start went just as poorly. New York lost 49-17 to Dallas.
Despite DeVito’s early struggles, the Giants had nowhere else to turn for Week 11. He made his third-career start against the Commanders and got things started with the most Italian touchdown celebration possible.
