Tommy Pham is on an absolute tear over the last month of the 2025 Major League Baseball season. As a result, potential trade rumors have surfaced with the Pirates expected to move on from the outfielder.

Those reports heated amid a series with the San Francisco Giants. Pham went viral for other reasons, however, during the set due to some extracurriculars with opposing fans.

Pham helped Pittsburgh sweep the Giants on the road. He racked up five hits in eight at-bats while scoring two runs and notching an RBI. It continued his recent tear at the plate.

Tommy Pham is on fire.

The veteran is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak that dates back to mid-July. He’s been able to turn his season around drastically following a slow start.

As late as June 19th, he was hitting just .194 on the year. Over the last 30 days, that average has risen to .273.

Since June 22nd, he’s batting .411 with eight doubles, four home runs, and 20 RBIs. It’s been the most impressive run in the MLB.

Pham has been a bit of a journeyman over the last few years. He’s played for 10 different teams since 2019.

Still, he often finds himself in playoff situations as contenders look to add both experience and swagger while making postseason pushes.

It happened last year when he was picked up by the Royals. He nearly helped the Diamondbacks win a World Series after a midseason trade the season prior.

Tommy Pham plays with a chip on his shoulder. He brings a certain confidence to the game but sometimes takes it a little too far.

Pham’s attitude is often the cause of headlines.

He’s been in the news of late for a tiff with former teammate Joc Pederson. He’s gone after catcher William Contreras, too.

The scuffles are not reserved to opposing players alone, though. Pham has also been involved in back-and-forth altercations with fans.

He targeted members of the Padres’ fanbase during a 2023 game. That beef continued onto social media after the contest’s conclusion.

Due to his explosive history, opposing fans often go after him in attempts to get a reaction. It worked in San Francisco.

Tommy Pham is on the trading block.

The interaction with Giants fans has nothing to do with the trade speculation. Instead, it’s his recent on-field play that has teams salivating at the opportunity to land the outfielder.

The Phillies have been mentioned as a potential suitor. A reunion with San Diego could also be on the table.

The trade deadline ends on July 31st. Pham is expected to be moved. He should know his fate soon. The veteran may very well be playing in October for a third straight season.
