Atlanta Hawks Point Guard Trae Young has been making big shots and creating big moments since his college days as a superstar at Oklahoma. His unique skill set of world-class ball handling, elite vision, great finishing around the rim, and limitless age made him a star in the NBA from day one.

Trae Young has already had some playoff success, as he led the Atlanta Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, where they lost to the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks. Many expected Young and the Hawks to take the next step toward title contention, but it didn’t happen. The Hawks struggled to the eighth seed last year en route to a first-round exit at the hand of the top-seeded Miami Heat. And, this season was not much better, as they limped to the play-in tournament and the seventh seed, then fell behind the Boston Celtics 2-0.

But, they won game 3 back in Atlanta, before Boston took game 4. And, the Celtics were major favorites to take game 5 back in Boston and win the series. For a while, it looked like they would indeed end the series, and after a Jaylen Brown 3, they led by 13 points with just six minutes remaining.

But, the Hawks and Trae Young had other ideas. They fought back to give themselves a chance to win in the game’s final seconds, and he hit this incredible shot to give them a lead with just a few ticks remaining.

Holy cow. What a shot. All of a sudden, with game 6 heading back to Atlanta, we very much have a series.

Twitter was obviously on fire after the incredible shot by Trae Young.

All of a sudden, there is a very crucial game 6 in this series on Thursday Night.
