Travis Hunter and Dakorien Moore are both okay after an awkward celebration at the Polynesian Bowl nearly cost both college football stars their careers. Although that might sound a little bit dramatic, it really was that close to complete and total disaster.
Everything is fine!!!!
Hunter, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, traveled to Hawaii to witness some of the best high school football players in the country go head-to-head. He was actually named as the all-star game’s MVP in 2022 and hit the ‘Deion Shuffle’ in honor of his Hall of Fame head coach at Jackson State and later Colorado. His return to Honolulu was almost a total disaster!
Dakorien Moore is ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in the college football recruiting Class of 2025 and a top-10 prospect overall. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound pass-catcher committed to Oregon over 32 offers from nearly every powerhouse program.
Much like Hunter in 2022, Moore put on a show at the Polynesian Bowl on Friday night. He finished with a game-high 130 yards and two touchdowns on six catches, which led him to be named as the game’s co-MVP alongside quarterback Husan Longstreet. It is not crazy to think that the five-star freshman could lead the Ducks in receiving next season.

However, he was almost lost for the entire 2025 college football season before it even began!
Travis Hunter almost ended his AND Dakorien Moore’s career, by accident.
Moore’s 75-yard-touchdown lifted Team Makai to a seven-point win over Team Mauka late in the fourth quarter. The highlight reel catch immediately went viral on social media— for more reasons than one.
Moore made a ridiculous one-handed catch right in between two defensive backs, split them down the middle, and scored. Hunter ran over to celebrate the insane touchdown in the end zone but he slipped right as he crossed the goal line.
Not only did Hunter’s legs buckle under him, the slip caused Moore to fall awkwardly.
Dakorien Moore is not a human being!

Everybody in Hawaii and fans watching the Polynesian Bowl at home held their collective breath for a moment. Travis Hunter was pretty quick to get up but Dakorien Moore stayed down on the ground for a few moments
Fortunately, they were both okay. Crisis adverted. Carry on!
