Travis Hunter’s wife, Leanna, had some words for Shannon Sharpe a week after Sharpe criticized her husband.

Last week, Sharpe said that Hunter should focus on playing one side of the ball instead of splitting time at wide receiver and cornerback.

“Why is he looking good, Joe? Why is he looking good? Because he’s doing what? He’s concentrating on one side of the ball!”

“We were all extremely, extremely special in high school. We were special in college. When you realize you go to the pros, guess what? You’re not the most special one.”

“I’m just telling you from a guy that played in that league for a long time as an elite, at an elite-level player. He’s not playing both ways full-time. Never have, never will.”

On Sunday, Hunter caught an interception and a touchdown on back-to-back drives in the team’s loss to the Texans.

During Hunter’s big game, Leanna fired a shot at Sharpe over his comments.

“When you speak about my husband make sure you put ‘TWO WAY’ player in front”

Sharpe reacted to Leanna’s callout on his podcast.

“Hey, I understand that is your husband, and you’re supposed to ride for him”

“All I’ve ever said is that he’s not playing every snap of every down on both sides of the ball. Yeah. I believe he’s an every-down corner, and then you sprinkle in packages.”

“All I’ve ever said is I think he’s a phenomenal talent. He has All-Pro ability at corner. He’s an athlete at the wide receiver position that you can use him in spots.”
