Travis Kelce stuck up for a fellow tight end on Wednesday on his New Heights podcast alongside brother, Jason. The pass catcher backed former NFL star turned commentator Greg Olsen following a demotion at FOX.

That move from the A-team to the B-team came after the network hired Hall of Fame signal caller Tom Brady in a similar role. Despite Olsen’s history of success on the air, and Brady’s lack of experience, the move was made to send Olsen down a rung.

Kelce said FOX “did him dirty” with the decision. His comments come in around the 40-minute mark of the segment.

“I love my guy Greg Olsen,” the tight end said while speaking on Tom Brady’s debut in the booth. “They kind of did him dirty over there at FOX, but I mean, it’s Tom Brady, what can you do, right? Sometimes you just gotta do your thing. And Greg does a f—ing tremendous job. He called our Super Bowl game, and he was f—ing fantastic doing that.”

Jason Kelce backed his brother’s statement, though both had nothing but praise for the HoF passer.

“[Brady]’s gonna do f—ing great. He’s the greatest QB of all time. He’s going to be able to share his insight, what he thinks about the game, live. He’s going to be sharing what was going on his head while he was playing… I f—ing can’t wait to listen to Tom Brady call games, and he’s going to kill it.”

While that may be true, Greg Olsen is widely considered the best color commentator on the NFL airwaves. Despite that overwhelming feeling towards the broadcaster, he’ll take a backseat to Brady.

Interestingly, Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason, is set to enter the broadcasting field himself in 2024. The former Philadelphia Eagles lineman will take over on Monday Night Football for Robert Griffin III after retiring from the NFL this offseason.

It will be interesting to follow both Tom Brady and Jason Kelce in the coming year.
